‘CHARLIE’ NAMED PET OF THE DAY

“Charlie” is today’s (Thursday) Pet of the Day at the Brenham Pet Adoption Center.

Charlie is a young, part blue point Siamese.  Brenham Animal Services says Charlie came to the shelter as a young kitten and was raised by shelter staff, so she is friendly and likes human company.  She is easy-going, high-energy and affectionate toward her caregivers, and is usually quiet.

Staff say Charlie has been living in a foster home, and has recovered from surgeries to repair an intestinal hernia and prolapsed colon.  Because of her gastrointestinal problems, her diet is restricted to prescription food only, supplemented with probiotics and fiber.  Although she uses a litter box, she does not have complete control of her bowels, so she will probably need to live outside in a location safe from predators.

Anyone seeking to adopt or foster a pet can go online to www.petfinder.com to see the shelter’s available pets.  They can also make appointments to meet a pet by calling 979-337-7351, or by visiting the Brenham Animal Services Facebook page.  The shelter is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
