WASHINGTON CO. MAJOR ALL-STARS ARE DISTRICT 13 CHAMPS

Make it eight for eight!

The Washington County Major Boys won a thriller over Bellville tonight (Saturday) 1-0 to win their District 13 Tournament Championship.  All eight Washington County teams that participated in the district tournaments went undefeated and won the whole thing.

The Major Boys lone run came in the top of first inning. Bleu Cienega led it off with a triple. He later scored on an RBI groundout by Jack Rogas. That would turn out to be the only run WC needed.

Hunter Myers was fantastic on the mound.  He got the win going five shutout innings allowing two infield hits, three walks, and struck out 11.

Myers was perfect thru the first three innings in which he struck out seven of the first nine batters he faced.

Eli Jaeger pitched a scoreless sixth to get the save.

Bellville had base runners on in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings but just couldn't get any runs home.

Washington County now moves on to the Section 1 Tournament, which begins July 5 in Austin.
