The principal of Somerville Intermediate School has reportedly resigned, following her arrest in Travis County on a burglary charge.

KBTX-TV in Bryan reports the resignation of 45-year-old Leanne Baugus.

Booking records from the Austin Police Department show Baugus was arrested for Burglary of a Building on June 23rd.

Update @ 5:50 a.m. Friday: Police report they found Baugus inside a bar in Austin with cuts on her arms and feet, along with glass from the front door shattered on the ground.  Police say her cuts were consistent with the broken glass.

Baugus told police she did not know how she ended up inside the bar, and that she was with a man who left the bar before authorities arrived.  However, she later said she was the only person there.

The owner of the bar told police that a Macbook, laptop and hard drive were missing from the bar.

Baugus was released on bond June 24th.

KWHI has reached out to Somerville ISD Superintendent Karla Sparks for confirmation of Baugus’ resignation.
