The community held a drive-by parade for Collin Smith, who is back home after spending several months recovering in the hospital following an accident in January.  Smith, who graduated in May, was a member of the Brenham Anglers bass fishing team.

The parade began in the Brenham Junior High School parking lot, driving down Carlee Drive and Allyne Lane.  Dozens of vehicles, including several Brenham police cruisers and a Brenham fire engine, all came to wish Smith well.

Family members of Smith say he is still healing and has recently begun physical therapy and speech therapy.

  1. Thank you for covering this story about my sweet nephew Collin! He’s an amazing human!!! The most loving, layed back, caring individual I’ve ever met! He and my son, Cameron Moschak, we’re BFFS from birth! They’re only 4.5 mo apart and have shared soooo many memories together! Collin is like another son to us! Spent COUNTLESS weekends, spring breaks, and summers with our family.(it was ALWAYS “can I stay another night, Aunt Shelly?” … to which the answer was ALWAYS “of COURSE!” Collin has endured one trauma after another since 1/28/21! 9 brain surgeries, pneumonia, bacterial meningitis. He is home resting but still needs your prayers for complete rehabilitation! Our entire family is COUNTING on a miracle (we’ve already seen too many to quit!) for Collin!!! Please continue to keep him and our WHOLE family in prayer! There are so many needs… and insurance does NOT cover them all! It’s been a long journey already, but with Jesus, we KNOW it’s going to be ok….. but will be a LONG Road! We cherish your thoughts, outpouring of support, and COVET your prayers as we wait and watch this miracle from God alone unfold!
