BLINN COLLEGE AND GRAHAM LODGE HOLD CORNERSTONE CEREMONY

  

Blinn College and the Graham Masonic Lodge of Texas held a cornerstone leveling ceremony this (Tuesday) morning at the new Science, Technology, Engineering, and Innovation Building on the Brenham campus.  The local Lodge number 20 donated another $15,000 for an endowed scholarship to the college.  The cornerstone and scholarship are in honor of the Blinn College administration and staff who are also members of the Graham Lodge.  Those members of Graham Masonic Lodge that were present at the event were Dr. Charles Cottingham, Leon Toubin, and Steve Westbrook.  The cornerstone and the endowed scholarship were given to honor the memory of the 16 members who were associated with Blinn education as professors or board members.  They are: Dr. Charles L. Cottingham, Dr. Thomas M. Spencer, Dr. James H. Atkinson, Bob R. Ham, B. C. Crawford, Nathan L. Byrd, Robert L. 'Buddy' Hamrick, Greg W. Phillips, James Carstarphen, Johnell L. Schmidt, Clifford 'Conway' Draehn, Waldo F. Burt, Reese B. Lockett, Leon Toubin, Julian E. 'Jay' Weisler, and Steve Westbrook. The new 3 story classroom building is located at the corner of College Avenue and Prairie Lee Street in Brenham.
