Brenham police say no one was hurt after an accident Tuesday morning involving a police officer and a pickup.

Update @ 3:55 p.m.: No injuries are reported following a two-vehicle accident this (Tuesday) morning that involved a Brenham police officer.

DPS Troopers were dispatched shortly after 9:45 a.m. to a fleet crash on Highway 105 at Allen Road, near Silver Wings Ballroom.

According to DPS Sergeant Justin Ruiz, a Brenham police unit was making a left turn onto the highway from Allen Road, which is at a blind hill crest.

As the officer entered the highway and prepared to turn left without any other vehicles in view, a 2012 Chevy Silverado crested the hilltop headed eastbound on the highway.  According to Sgt. Ruiz, the driver of the pickup took “faulty evasive action” by steering to the left, striking the left rear passenger area of the police unit.

The driver of the pickup was treated and released on scene by EMS.  The officer was taken to Baylor Scott and White in Brenham by another officer, per standard protocol.  Brenham Police Captain Dant Lange said the officer was not injured.
