FUNERAL SERVICES SCHEDULED FOR BRENHAM BUSINESSMAN JOHN HERMANN

  

 

John Hermann

Funeral services have been announced for long-time Brenham business leader, John Hermann.

Hermann died last Saturday at the age of 74.  He was the long-time owner of Hermann Furniture in downtown Brenham.

He also served as director, Emeritus of the Brenham Maifest, past President of the Downtown Association and served on the Main Street Board, the economic Vitality Committee and the Historic Preservation Ordinance Committee.

He was honored in 2014, when the city named May 15th, “John Hermann Day” for his 50 years at Hermann Furniture.

Hermann was a member of the Grand Masonic Lodge where he served as Master.  He was also a member of the Arabia Shrine Temple and President of the Brenham Shrine Club. He was an active member of Brenham First Baptist church where he served as head of the Audio Visual Ministry and also Deacon of the church. He also served as long time director of Crossroads Bank in Yoakum, Texas.

A visitation for John will be held from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. on Monday at Brenham Memorial Chapel.  The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Brenham’s First Baptist Church.
