BENEFIT FOR VICTIMS OF CRASH AT MAMA’S KITCHEN AUGUST 15
The Somerville community has organized a fundraiser for the victims of last week’s crash at Mama’s Kitchen.
Two of the restaurant’s employees, Fidencia Casas and Amber Martinez, suffered severe burn injuries when last Thursday, a car drove into the side of the building where the oil fryers are located.
To support their recovery, residents are hosting a benefit on Sunday, August 15th at the Welch Park Pavilion at Lake Somerville.
The day’s activities include a poker run at noon, beginning at Bottleneck’s Bar & Grill and stopping at Wheel’s, Fort Half Moon Saloon, Papi’s Icehouse and Somerville Icehouse & Grill.
Chicken and sausage barbecue plates will be sold starting at 6 p.m. for $10 a plate for one meat and $12 for two meats. There will also be live music from Sweet Baby Mayhem and ice cream from Earl and Pearl’s Creamery, along with a drawing and live and silent auctions.
After 2 p.m., all gate fees at Welch Park will be donated to Casas and Martinez. An account has been established at Citizens State Bank in Somerville under their names for anyone unable to attend but still wishing to donate.
