CITY OF BRENHAM LIBRARIAN ANDRIA HEIGES LEAVING FOR LAMPASAS
City of Brenham Librarian Andria Heiges is relocating to another city.
At Thursday’s Brenham City Council meeting, city officials announced that Heiges has tendered her resignation and will be moving to Lampasas. Heiges said the company of her husband, Richard, is opening a branch there, and the move will also allow them to be closer to family.
Heiges, who joined the city in October 2012, was promoted to head librarian in 2016 and oversaw the modernization of the Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library.
Chief Financial Officer Carolyn Miller said the city’s library system has marked many accomplishments under Heiges’ leadership.
Heiges said she is thankful for the support she has received throughout here time with the city.
Fortnightly Club President Lu Hollander said it has been “a blessing” to work alongside Heiges in putting together club projects and events that support the library.

Tammy Murphy will serve as head librarian in the interim.
Also recognized at Thursday’s meeting was Norma Rodriguez, who is retiring through the city’s early retirement program after 13 years as the city’s Spanish-speaking court interpreter.
Miller also announced that for the 11th year in a row, the city has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). The award serves as the GFOA’s “highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting.”
Andria is helping bring the Imagination library to our 77833 Zip code. She is always friendly, willing to help anyone who walks in the library. She was a true assets to the City of Brenham and will be dearly missed. Blessings to your family and your future endeavors.
