STANDOFF IN BURLESON CO. ENDS AFTER CHIEF DEPUTY SHOT

A warrant service Tuesday night resulted in the shooting of Burleson County’s Chief Deputy and a standoff that lasted over 8 hours.

Chief Deputy John Pollock was shot just before 7 p.m. while deputies conducted a search warrant at a home off of FM 60, west of Snook.  The armed suspect then barricaded themselves inside the home, prompting a standoff involving multiple agencies.

Pollock was hospitalized at CHI St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan in serious but stable condition.

DPS Sergeant Justin Ruiz said the home was secured this (Wednesday) morning at 3:15 a.m., and that FM 60 will remain closed near the scene while investigation is underway.  Drivers are asked to find an alternate route.

Sgt. Ruiz said no information on the suspect can be released at this time.

Responding agencies included the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office, DPS, the Bryan and College Station police departments, the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office, Burleson County constables, Blinn College and Texas A&M police, and the Bryan Fire Department.
