Brenham High School’s interim principal will come from Brenham ISD’s current administration.

In a press release this (Friday) afternoon, Brenham ISD announced that Brandi Hendrix will assume a dual role of acting as the interim principal while continuing to serve as the district’s assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction.  Hendrix will begin her new role on September 7th.

Prior to joining Brenham ISD in May 2020, Hendrix served three years as the principal of Montgomery High School.  She has 20 years of experience in education, 16 of those in Montgomery ISD.

This comes after current Brenham High School Principal Joseph Chandler informed the district on Monday that he will be taking a new position as a school support officer in Houston ISD.  His last day with Brenham ISD will be September 10th.

Brenham ISD said it has started the process of identifying its next high school principal, and that it is “committed to continuing the search process until we get the right person to lead Brenham High School.”
