SEVEN SENTENCED IN LOCAL DISTRICT COURT

A Brenham man has been sentenced to five years in prison in the latest edition of District Court.
23-year-old Darius Alexander Toliver pleaded guilty to two charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance – First Degree Felony; and Evading Arrest/Detention with Previous Conviction – a State Jail Felony.
Toliver was arrested back on February 9th of this year. He was sentenced to five years on the Possession charge and 18 months on the Evading Arrest charge. He will serve the sentenced concurrently.
Also in District Court this week:
38-year-old Kanitra Kaye Cloud of Brenham was sentenced to five years’ probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance – a Third Degree Felony. Cloud was also fined $500 fine, ordered to attend a drug offender education program and undergo drug/alcohol evaluation and treatment.
25-year-old Gregory Allen Offing, Jr. of Somerville was placed on four years’ probation for Evading Arrest Detention with Vehicle – a Third Degree Felony. Offing was also fined $500 and ordered to perform 120 hours community service restitution.
33-year-old Crystal Yvette Castro of Houston will serve three years’ probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance – a State Jail Felony. Castro was also fined $500.
25-year-old Daniel Nickolas Reyes of Houston was sentenced to three years’ probation for Burglary of a Building and Theft of Property Between $2500 and $30,000 – both Sate Jail Felonies. Reyes must also pay $2300 restitution and perform 200 hours of community service.
20-year-old Darren Keith Oneal, II of Houston was placed on two years’ probation for Attempted Credit/Debit Card Abuse – a Class A Misdemeanor. Oneal was also fined $500 and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service restitution.
And, 40-year-old Bobby Demond Cleveland of Austin was sentenced to two days in the Washington County Jail for Money Laundering Between $2,500 and $30,000 – a State Jail Felony.
