INFORMATIONAL MEETING MONDAY TO DISCUSS BURTON BOND
Burton residents are invited this (Monday) evening to an informational meeting about this fall’s bond election in Burton ISD.
BONDing Together for Kids, a political action committee, will host the meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the Burton High School auditorium.
The program will include a tour of existing Burton ISD facilities, a presentation of the proposed upgrades included in the bond, and a question and answer session with the construction manager, architect and financial consultant involved with the bond.
Earlier this month, the Burton School Board officially called for the $43.8 million bond, which will include various academic and athletic projects like adding and renovating classrooms, renovating fine arts facilities, upgrading the cafeteria and kitchen, creating an enclosed connection for district buildings, adding a new competition gym and stadium, and performing various site and drainage improvements.
Residents who wish to participate in the November 2nd bond election will need to register to vote by October 4th.
