FAYETTE CO. FAIR OPENS THURSDAY

  

Fair season gets underway tonight (Thursday) in Fayette County.

Festivities for the 2021 Fayette County Fair begin this evening and continue through Sunday at the fairgrounds in La Grange, featuring live music and entertainment, livestock activities, a carnival, a barbecue cook-off, a 5K run and a parade.

Today is Senior Citizen’s Day at the fairgrounds, featuring $5 admission for citizens 55 and older.  The carnival opens today, and the opening ceremony is set for 7 p.m. at the Marge Rosenberg stage.  The Little Miss and Mister Contest and Queen’s Scholarship Pageant will follow at 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively, with music afterwards from the Just Us Band.

Tomorrow’s (Friday) schedule includes Ag Adventures, a bucket calf show, mutton bustin’ and music from Southpaw, Doc West and The Emotions.

Saturday will open with a 5K run, as well as the parade through downtown La Grange.  There will also be Ag Adventures, a washer tournament, a stick horse race and the opening of the barbecue cook-off, which will continue through Sunday.  Featured entertainment on Saturday will include J.A. Productions, Southbound 955, Joe Nichols and Doug Stone.

The fair rounds out on Sunday with the conclusion of the barbecue cook-off, talent and comedy shows, and live music from the Blue Denim Band, .38 Special and the Black Cat Choir.

Daily tickets will be available at the fairgrounds ticket office.
