COLORADO CO. FAIR KICKS OFF THURSDAY

  

Festivities for the 43rd Annual Colorado County Fair begin tonight (Thursday) in Columbus.

The Colorado County Fairgrounds will play host to the fair, themed “Country Pride, Country Wide”, from today through Saturday.

Featured activities will include the Heart of America Carnival, a parade, a barbecue cook-off, rodeo events, a petting zoo, an antique car show and the American Veterans Traveling Tribute.

Opening ceremonies at the fair will be held today, which will also be Senior Citizen Day and Tejano night, with Los Ligaditos on stage.

Performing tomorrow (Friday) will be Colby Swift, Southbound 955, Jon Stork, and Shane Smith and the Saints.

Saturday will begin with the fair parade and round out with entertainment from the Black Cat Choir, the Texas Dream Band, the Texas Jamm Band, and Moe Bandy.

At the fair queen pageant this past weekend, Mary Kate Heger was named the 2021 Colorado County Fair Queen, Lexi Ybarra was named Membership Queen and Addyson Fucik was named Junior Queen.  Meanwhile, Junior Miss was Miah Valenzuela, and Caitlyn Roberts and Jagher Peikert were named Little Miss and Little Mister.
