On this weekend that marks 20 years after the events of September 11, 2001, U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul (TX-10) visited with KWHI to discuss what he remembers from that day and how it reshaped the United States.

McCaul, the former chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee and the top Republican of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said he will never forget the moment he discovered America was under attack.

McCaul worries that the United States’ recent withdrawal from Afghanistan may have negative, far-reaching effects.

Ultimately, McCaul believes America’s response following the attacks prevented similar events from happening again.

McCaul’s full interview with KWHI News Director Joshua Blaschke can be heard below.

  1. I like Fayette County Judge Joe Weber’s (Lt. General, USMC) remarks about honoring terrorists’ Victims – he said LOWERING the FLAG is too much like bowing to the terrorists. He said he will FLY the FLAG HIGH! (FYI only – not trying to promote anything)
