OPENING CEREMONIES, QUEEN’S CROWNING WEDNESDAY AT WASHINGTON CO. FAIR

  

Opening ceremonies are set for tonight (Wednesday) at the 153rd Washington County Fair.

The ceremony at 6:30 p.m. will be preceded by the Little Mr. and Miss Contest at 5 p.m. and the Junior Mr. and Miss Contest at 6 p.m., and will be followed by the crowning of the Washington County Fair Queen at 7 p.m.  This year’s queen candidates are Trinity Hart, Emma Marth, Keely Mikolajchak and Jolie Standley.

Livestock judging resumes this morning with the poultry show at 7 a.m., the lamb show at 9 a.m. and the goat show at 11 a.m.

Many attractions at the fair open to the public today, including the display of antique farm equipment, the children’s petting zoo, country creations and crafts and vendor booths.  The Heart of America Carnival is open from 6 to 11 p.m. and will offer all-you-can-ride wristbands for $25.

Mutton bustin’ begins at 6:30 p.m. at the rodeo arena, with bull riding at 7:30 p.m.  The evening will conclude with a performance from the Crossroads Band at 8 p.m.

Advance season tickets can no longer be purchased from queen candidates, but season tickets are available at the ticket gates.  Daily tickets are also available.

  1. Congratulations to all of the queen candidates. I am not certain everyone realizes how hard every one of these lovely ladies work to sell tickets and support the fair. These also work incredibly hard all week long during the fair to make this event as special as it can be for everyone taking part. Make sure and honor all of them if you see them
