JUNIOR LIVESTOCK AUCTION, CHILDREN’S DAY FRIDAY AT WASHINGTON CO. FAIR

  

Today (Friday) marks the biggest day of the 153rd Washington County Fair for hundreds of livestock exhibitors.

The Junior Livestock Auction will be held at 2 p.m. in Barn #1 at the Washington County Expo.  The auction will be available to bidders both in-person and online through the Cattle in Motion website.

KWHI will broadcast the auction live starting at 1:30 p.m. on AM 1280, FM 101.7 and kwhi.com.

Livestock judging concludes today with the commercial halter heifer show at 8 a.m. and the colt show at 11 a.m.

Today is Children’s Day at the fair, and preschool through first grade teachers are invited to bring their students to enjoy the fair’s exhibits and activities.  Entry is free, and a hot dog meal will be served along with a dessert and refreshment.  RSVPs are required.

Other fair attractions remain open, like the children’s petting zoo, antique farm equipment displays, country creations and crafts and vendor booths.  The Heart of America Carnival will be open from 6 to 11 p.m. and offer all-you-can-ride wristbands for $25.

Rodeo action continues tonight with mutton bustin’ at 6:30 p.m. and the CPRA Rodeo and wild steer saddling at 7:30 p.m.

Music this evening includes Allison Crowson at the food court, while the entertainment pavilion will feature Carson Jeffrey, Giovannie and the Hired Guns, and Jason Boland and the Stragglers.
