FIFTEEN NOMINATED FOR VOTER-CHOSEN POSITIONS ON HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD

Downtown Brenham property owners have 15 nominees to choose from to serve as voter-selected representatives on the city’s Historic Preservation Board.

Nominees include Scott Ballard, Tom Bartley, Rachel Beseda, Katie Burch, Jose Canales, Travis Fleetwood, Sherry Harber, Jennifer Hermann, Hal Moorman, Cayte Neil, Traci Pyle, Brad Tegeler, Tommy Traylor, Stacey Walters and Connie Wilder.

The 15 candidates were nominated by property owners within the Downtown Historic Overlay District to fill two of the seven positions on the board, which was created in connection with the recently approved Historic Preservation Ordinance.

Out of seven members in total who will serve on the board, at least four must be property owners in downtown, including the two positions that will be voted upon.

Downtown property owners now have until Friday at 5 p.m. to submit their choice of two candidates from the slate of nominees, which will then be approved by the city council in October.

Selection forms can be submitted to the green ballot box in the main lobby at Brenham City Hall.  They can also be mailed to Main Street Brenham; Attn: Jennifer Eckermann; P.O. Box 1059, Brenham, TX 77834.
