DEADLINE FRIDAY TO REGISTER FOR DOWNTOWN BRENHAM SCARECROW EXTRAVAGANZA

Time is running out to sign up to participate in Main Street Brenham’s 18th Annual Scarecrow Extravaganza.
Online registration at www.downtownbrenham.com closes tomorrow (Friday) for the event, which encourages the community to get in the fall spirit by decorating downtown with a colorful variety of scarecrows.
There are $1,525 in cash prizes this year across 10 categories, including the “Best Overall” prize of $300 sponsored by KTEX/KWHI. The other categories include:
- Most Votes for $200, sponsored by Hermann Furniture.
- Judges Choice for $200, sponsored by Must Be Heaven.
- Best Fall Theme for $125, sponsored by Board & Brush.
- Most Creative for $125, sponsored by Scrubs N Stuff Boutique.
- Most Educational for $125, sponsored by The Book Nook.
- Silliest for $125, sponsored by Faubion Design.
- Cutest for $125, sponsored by The Canyon Chick.
- Two Honorable Mentions for $100 each, sponsored by Branded Boutique and Timeless Designs Market.
Scarecrows must be placed in downtown by Friday, October 1st. Voting will take place in sponsoring stores from October 2-23, and the winners will be announced on October 26th.

Ok, that surveyor deserved the win. So cute.
My other favorite was years ago of a firefighter scarecrow. Looked so much like Tank at the FD.
I built one and only one when I lived there: let’s just say o have mad props to those who enter it (I miss entering the egg decorating contest).
