The first draft of a new congressional map would add a majority of Brazos County to CD-10, approximately 70 percent.  CD-10 is represented by Michael McCaul of Austin.

The proposal would include College Station and portions of Bryan, including the RELLIS Campus.

Currently, all of Brazos County is a part of CD-17, represented by Pete Sessions of Waco.  Under the proposed map, CD-17 would receive the remainder of Bryan and the northwest part of Brazos County, about 30 percent of the county.

In addition, CD-10 would add Burleson, Grimes, Madison and the northern half of Walker County under the new proposal.  However, it would no longer extend into Harris County, as it would end at the Waller County-Harris County line.

Texas is receiving two new congressional seats after the release of 2020 census data, and will have 38 congressional districts.  The two new seats will belong to Houston and Austin.

With this proposal, CD-10 would share Walker County with CD-8, Bastrop County with CD-27 and Williamson County with CD-17 and CD-31.  It would be one of five congressional districts in Travis County, the others being CD-17, CD-21, CD-35 and CD-37.
