WOMAN ARRESTED AFTER RIDING ON TOP OF TRAIN IN BRAZOS CO.

(Brazos Co. Jail)
Trains moving through Brazos County Tuesday afternoon were delayed for several hours after a woman climbed on top of a railcar.
The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office says employees from Union Pacific Railroad noticed 38-year-old Judy Deleon of College Station on top of a railcar while the train was stopped in Bryan. After leaving, the train was stopped near FM 2154 and FM 159 in Millican in order to get Deleon off of the railcar.
Officials from the sheriff’s office and College Station Fire Department spent over three hours persuading Deleon to come down. Firefighters used a ladder truck to bring her down, and she was taken into custody for Interfering with Railroad Property. She remains at the Brazos County Jail on $5,000 bond.
Union Pacific officials told the sheriff’s office that they estimated the delays caused to the train, along with two other trains, would cost $3,600.
