BLINN SUFFERS SHUTOUT TO JACKSONVILLE

Buccaneers now 5-5-1 in Region XIV

The Blinn College men’s soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to host Jacksonville College on Wednesday.
The Buccaneers (9-5-1, 5-5-1 Region XIV) gave up two quick goals at the start of the match and trailed 2-0 by halftime.
Jacksonville (5-6, 5-6) later tacked on a third goal after the break to pad its lead.
Blinn head coach Michael McBride said he was pleased with his team’s second-half effort, but said his team made too many first-half mistakes which led to the end result.
“We got out-worked, and we weren’t what we needed to be to get the right result,” McBride said. “As a collective, we’re nowhere near where we need to be if we want to do anything in the postseason.
“But we’ll get back to work.”
