WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO REVIEW 2020-21 SCHOOL LANDS REPORT
Washington County Commissioners will look to distribute school land revenues to local school districts at their meeting Tuesday.
Commissioners will review the 2020-21 school lands report and consider disbursing funds to Brenham and Burton ISDs. The court annually distributes revenue to the school districts from mineral rights, farming leases and hunting leases from Washington County school land in Tom Green County.
In 2020, Brenham ISD received $271,917 in school land revenue, while Burton ISD received $25,845.
Also on Tuesday, commissioners will consider a donation from DPS Agency No. 405 for six tactical vests for the Precinct One Constable's Office. In addition, they will discuss accepting a bid for one used motor grader for the Engineering and Development Services Department.
The court will also consider:
- Acknowledgement and consent to BK Stringer, LTD’s collateral assignment to rights to reimbursement to Independent Bank.
- A change order for the 2020 CTIF grant submitted by Strand Associates, Inc. on behalf of the contractor, Larry Young Paving, Inc.
- Formal notice for a10-inch temporary lay flat water line to be placed within the right of way of Bredthauer Road, Sandtown Road and Schoenemann Road in Precinct 4.
- Directing the Washington County Auditor’s Office to conduct an audit of the 21st Judicial District Attorney’s Office’s seizure and forfeiture accounts, pursuant to Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.
- Monthly reports from Information Technology, the emergency management coordinator, county and district clerks, justices of the peace, auditor, tax assessor/collector, treasurer and constables.
Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
