A local company is making a major contribution toward the Brenham Heritage Museum’s planned reopening next year.
Blue Bell Creameries is donating $200,000 in support of the museum’s capital campaign. Museum officials say the donation moves the museum well past the 25 percent mark in funding needed to complete all renovations and exhibits at the historic post office building in downtown Brenham.
With a donation of this level, the Blue Bell name will grace the rotating exhibit gallery in the new museum. This space, which is located to the right of the main entrance foyer off of Market Street, will house changing exhibits that will offer something new for visitors several times a year.
Blue Bell joins the Hasskarl family, Sissy Miller and Tiffany Morisak whose previous donations reached the naming rights level.

Construction at the museum has been ongoing since the start of June. Bullock Construction of Brenham is the general contractor, while Elizabeth Price of Upchurch Architects is overseeing the construction and updating of the building. Core Design Studio and the museum’s interim executive director, Mike Vance, are creating the exhibits.
The museum continues to seek both corporate and individual partners in its capital campaign for the restoration of the museum.
