The man wanted in connection to a homicide in La Grange, and one of Texas’ most wanted fugitives, has been arrested.

34-year-old Charles Lee Tillman, Jr. of Missouri City was apprehended today (Tuesday) in Killeen by the United States Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.

Tillman is accused of shooting and killing 40-year-old David Wayne Harrison, Jr. on May 30th at the River Valley Apartments.  A warrant for Murder was issued on June 4th by the La Grange Police Department for Tillman’s arrest.

According to a release from La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath, task force agents arrested Tillman at a known associate’s residence in Killeen after acting on a tip.  Tillman was arrested without incident.

In addition to the Murder warrant, Tillman also had a warrant for his arrest for Parole Violation, since he had previously been convicted of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance and had been sentenced to 14 years’ confinement.

Tillman was added to DPS’ 10 Most Wanted List in September, and was named the featured fugitive of the month for November.  The reward for his arrest had recently increased to $16,000, as Texas Crime Stoppers was offering a reward this month of $8,500 and Fayette County Crime Stoppers was offering $7,500.

The La Grange Police Department was assisted in its investigation by the Texas Rangers, the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.
