CITY OF NAVASOTA A QUARTERFINALIST IN ‘AMERICA’S MAIN STREETS’ CONTEST
The City of Navasota is one of 25 quarterfinalists in a contest promoting downtown areas across the United States.
Earlier this year, the city entered into the America’s Main Streets “Road to Recovery” contest, designed to help show the importance and economic benefits of Main Streets and local small businesses.
A $25,000 grand prize is up for grabs in the contest, hosted by Independent We Stand. According to the city’s nominee ballot, it would use the funding to perform beautification enhancements on and around Navasota’s “main street,” Washington Avenue.
The current round of online voting in the contest runs through December 12th. A winner out of 10 semifinalists will be announced on December 20th.
