LA GRANGE ISD SUPT. TO RETIRE IN JUNE

William "Bill" D. Wagner
(La Grange ISD)

The superintendent of La Grange ISD has announced plans to retire at the end of the current school year.

Superintendent William Wagner informed school trustees last week he intends to retire as of June 30, 2022.  He plans to vacate his office on May 27, 2022 so that the new superintendent can begin on June 1, 2022.

Wagner has worked in La Grange ISD for 38 years, including the past six as superintendent, and has had a 45-year career in education.

Wagner joined the district in 1984 as the first assistant principal at La Grange High School, before becoming the principal of the high school in 1988.  He served in that position until 2012 when he became assistant superintendent, a role he held for four years prior to being named superintendent in 2016.

In a letter to the board, Wagner thanked the district for allowing him the opportunity to serve for nearly four decades and said he looks forward to seeing the district continue to grow.
