DPS INVESTIGATING FATAL HIT AND RUN NEAR HEMPSTEAD

DPS is asking for the public’s help in the investigation of a fatal hit-and-run last week near Hempstead.

A release from DPS says 35-year-old Marco Aguilar-Perez of Hempstead was struck as he was walking on Old Houston Highway, east of Laura Lane, between 7 and 8 p.m. on November 17^th. He was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Hospital on November 19^th.

Preliminary investigation indicates an SUV or pickup truck was traveling eastbound when it struck Aguilar-Perez, who was walking eastbound in the roadway. The vehicle is believed to be a 1994 to 2000 white GMC Suburban SUV or pickup.

Evidence collected by troopers at the scene includes a passenger side hazard light, a passenger side headlamp, and a front grill assembly side.
