CANDLELIGHT CHRISTMAS AT WASHINGTON-ON-THE-BRAZOS DEC. 10 & 11
The birthplace of Texas will soon celebrate a “Candlelight Christmas.”
On December 10th and 11th, from 4:30 to 8 p.m., visitors can walk the candlelit paths at Barrington Plantation at Washington-on-the-Brazos, experiencing a Texas Christmas in the decade before the Civil War.
Costumed interpreters will bring to life the festivities of the season with musket fire, music and dancing. There will also be tours of the historic home of the last President of the Republic, Dr. Anson Jones, and the plantation’s quarters.
No reservations are required. Tickets will be sold at the event for $10 for adults, $5 for students, and $25 for a family of two adults and up to five students.
