WASHINGTON CO. TO PARTICIPATE IN FOOD FOR FAMILIES FOOD DRIVE WEDNESDAY
Washington County is set to take part for the first time in the annual Food for Families Food Drive, hosted by the Brazos Valley Food Bank and KBTX.
The 26th annual event gets underway at 6 a.m. tomorrow (Wednesday) and continues until 7 p.m. at seven donation locations. This year, Washington County will have a donation site at the Washington County Expo Food Court.
The food drive collects non-perishable food and monetary donations to support the Brazos Valley Food Bank. Contributions will be distributed through Faith Mission, Bread Partners of Washington County, Burton Mobile Pantry, Washington Mobile Pantry and Prairie Hill Food Pantry.
Other donation locations include the Brazos Center in Bryan, the Son-Shine Outreach Center in Madisonville, the Pridgeon Community Center in Franklin, the Hearne Railroad Depot in Hearne, St. Mary’s Catholic Church Hall in Caldwell and Citizens State Bank in Navasota. Donations will stay in the county they are donated in.
Volunteers are still needed to staff the event in Brenham. To sign up, go online to www.signupgenius.com or email Brazos Valley Food Bank board member Carl Prihoda at cprihoda@csbtx.bank.
KTEX-106’s Crystal Ray will be broadcasting live tomorrow morning on KWHI at the Washington County Expo, while Marshall Garrett will have live reports on KTEX-106 from Citizens State Bank in Navasota.
