SEVEN PEOPLE SENTENCED IN DISTRICT COURT

  
Rodrick Payne
(Washington Co. Jail)

Seven people pled guilty in District Court this week and were sentenced by Judge Reva Towslee Corbett.

Roderick Lee Payne, 28 of Brenham, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for Burglary of Habitation with Intent to commit another Felony in August of 2020.  Payne was already sentenced to five years in the prison on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Drug Free Zone in August of this year for a February 2017 offence.

Grant Carden
(Washington Co. Jail)

Grant Edwin Carden, 33 of Pasadena, was sentenced to 8 years in prison for evading arrest with a vehicle, evading arrest or detention with a Previous Conviction, and Unauthorized Use of Vehicle.  The charges stem from a chase that occurred with Brenham Police in July of this year.

 

John Wylee Tyler Edenfield, 23 of Brenham, had his probation sentence adjudicated and was sentenced to 6 months the State Jail for a November 2019 Forgery Conviction.  He was also ordered to pay a $250 fine and pay $920 in restitution.

Marcos Antonio Rivas, 30 of Houston, was sentenced to 6 months in State Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Alexander John Barraza, 29 of Cypress, was sentenced to 3 years deferred adjudication probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance.  He was also ordered to pay a $500 fine and perform 150 hours of community service.

Freddie Akens, Jr., 41 of Hempstead, was sentenced to 3 years deferred adjudication probation for Unauthorized Use of Vehicle.  He was also ordered to pay $8180 in restitution.

Tavius Davon Clark, 20 of Brenham, was sentenced to 2 years deferred adjudication probation for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.  He was also ordered to pay a $500 fine and perform 200 hours of community service.
