A group of Brenham High School thespians is heading to nationals.

Brenham Cub Company Troupe 1315 traveled to Grapevine November 17-20 to compete at the Texas Thespian Festival.  Thirty-two students were represented, and 13 competed for state level judges.

According to High School Theatre Director Kara Freeman, three duet groups and one technical competition student scored a superior rating.  The seven students will now prepare for nationals, set for June 20-24, 2022 at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

Thirty-two students were represented at the Texas Thespian Festival at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine.

In addition, one student, Lily Marrs, earned a $1,000 scholarship from Texas Thespians.

The students who advanced to nationals include duet musical groups Kyle Freeman and Steven Houlihan, Lukas Freeman and Leah Rettig, and Lizzie Prinz and Colin Schroeder, as well as Sammi Rhyne for stage management.
