AREA RODEO CONTESTANTS COMPETING AT NATIONAL FINALS RODEO

  

Several rodeo competitors from around the area are participating in the National Finals Rodeo.

Caleb Smidt and Rowdy Parrott of Bellville, Shane and Taylor Hanchey of Carmine, Westyn Hughes of Caldwell, Cory Solomon of Prairie View and Trey Benton III of Richards are all participating in events at the finals, which conclude on Saturday at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Events the seven are competing in include breakaway roping, barrel racing, tie-down calf roping and steer wrestling.
