PURSUIT AFTER APPARENT KIDNAPPING WEDNESDAY

  

An apparent kidnapping led to a pursuit from Bryan to Brenham Wednesday evening.

Brenham Police report that on Wednesday, at 5:40 PM, Ofc. Connor Caskey responded to the 800 block of Gayhill Street in reference to a possible Kidnapping.  It was reported that the Suspect took a 2019 Hyundai Elantra of Victim #1 without his effective consent.  Victim #2 was still present in the vehicle when it was taken and the Suspect refused to let them exit.  Victim #2 was able to communicate briefly by cell phone with Brenham Officers, who were able to obtain a general location via a ping. The vehicle showed to be in the area of Bryan / College Station.  Contact was made with Brazos County, who were provided with license plate and Victim information.  The Suspect stopped at Walmart in Bryan, where Victim #2 was able to make contact with an employee allowing her to separate from the Suspect.  Bryan Officers responded to Walmart and made contact with Victim #2.   Deputies for the Brazos County Sheriff’s Department were able to locate the vehicle and attempted to effect a traffic stop on it.

The Suspect disregarded the Deputies emergency lights and a pursuit was initiated.  Blinn Officers from the Bryan Campus joined the pursuit as the Suspect travelled on Highway 60 towards Lyons.  The Suspect turned Southbound on Highway 36 North traveling towards Washington County.  The Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Brenham Police responded to the area of Highway 36 to intercept the pursuit.   Cpl. Greig was able to effectively deploy his spike strip, which slowly deflated all four tires of the vehicle as it passed his location in the area of FM 390.  The vehicle came to a stop on Highway 36 in the area of Wauls Legion Road and Officers were able to take Alineicia Ewing, 25 of Brenham, into custody for Kidnapping and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle at approximately 7:10 PM.
