TOYS FOR TOTS PROVIDES TOYS FOR 933 WASHINGTON CO. CHILDREN

  

Hundreds of Washington County children will be provided holiday cheer through Toys for Tots of Washington County and local first responders.

Brenham Police Sergeant Todd Ashorn informed the Brenham City Council on Thursday that community donations and contributions to the Toys for Tots Toy Drive will support the families of 933 children.

That total surpasses this year’s goal of 800 children reached through the toy drive, as well as last year’s total of 618 children.

Since last month, community members have been able to donate new, unwrapped toys at Toys for Tots boxes across Washington County.  They also had the opportunity to bring their toys to the lighted Christmas parade through downtown Brenham on December 4^th.

The drive culminated on Monday with toy donations at the “Light Up a Child’s Christmas with First Responders” event at the Fireman’s Training Center.

All toys donated will be solely used for children and families in Washington County.
