WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO CONSIDER FORMAL NOTICE FOR SEISMIC SURVEYING

Washington County Commissioners will act on a formal notice for seismic survey operations along county roads at their first meeting of 2022 on Tuesday.

The notice is from Collier Geophysics LLC to conduct three-dimensional seismic data surveys along sections of Washington County roads in Precinct 3.  The data will be used to characterize and map the subsurface geology, and will provide needed information for final planning of operations to acquire 3D seismic data over the Clay Creek Salt Dome.

Seismic sensors would be placed within the right-of-way of Mayfair Lane, Mound Hill Road, Dannheim Road, Clay Creek Road, Gerke Road, Janner Kuecker Lane, Valley Forge Lane, Hermann Lane, Richardson Lane, Cedar Hill Road, Quebe Road, Grebe Road, Mockingbird Road, Seeker Road, Rocky Hill School Road, Sun Oil Road, Clay Lane, Asa Hoxie Road, Captain Scott Road, Old Independence Road and Coles Road.

Collier Geophysics says the operations will not involve the installation or removal of utilities, nor will they obstruct or interfere with any existing surface or subsurface utilities.  All operations will occur only along open right-of-way areas, between roadway shoulder zones and fenced private/public property boundaries.

The court will also receive a presentation for a preliminary plat for the Independence Trail subdivision, a development of 23.9 acres on FM 390 West in Precinct 3.  It will also consider an agreement for on-call engineering support from Strand Associates.

Also on Tuesday, commissioners will consider:

  • A formal notice for utility installation by PGMS-Central Washington County Water Supply Corporation on Wauls Legion Road in Precinct 3 for a 2-inch road bore for a one-inch new service line.
  • Granting authorization to the county auditor, county treasurer and county judge to pay all necessary bills to close the 2021 fiscal year. It will also consider authorizing them to make budget amendments and budget line item transfers, if necessary, to close out the fiscal year.

Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
