SENATOR LOIS W. KOLKHORST HONORED BY THE TEXAS FARM BUREAU
The Texas Farm Bureau has recognized State Senator Lois W. Kolkhorst with their highest honor, The S.M. True Agricultural Champion Award.
Kolkhorst was presented with the award at the T.F.B.’s annual convention in Corpus Christi. The award is named in honor of former TFB President S.M. True Jr., who was a lifelong advocate for rural Texas.
Kolkhorst was recognized for her efforts during the recent 87th Texas Legislature and being a long time champion of private property rights.
She was instrumental in passing House Bill 2730, which establishes a Landowner’s Bill of Rights, and House Bill 4107, which requires written notice of intent to enter a landowner’s property to conduct a land survey for potential eminent domain proceedings.
