The woman suspected of a kidnapping in Houston who was stopped in Washington County has officially been charged.

23-year-old Madison Paige Ling was booked into the Harris County Jail Thursday on a charge of kidnapping.  Online jail records say her first court date is set for Monday, and bond has been denied.

Ling is accused of taking a male child from an apartment complex in the 10000 block of Forum West Drive in southwest Houston around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the kidnapping by Houston police at 2 a.m. Thursday.  According to Sheriff Otto Hanak, the suspect’s mother used an iPhone app to provide dispatchers with location information for the suspect’s vehicle, and Houston police investigators pinged the suspect’s phone to track it into Washington County.

Deputies stopped the vehicle around 2:45 a.m. in the 2000 block of Old Independence Road.  The 9-year-old victim was found safe and was released to the Houston Police Department along with Ling, who was driving the vehicle.  A male passenger, who was not believed to be involved in the incident, was released at the scene.
