BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD TO EVALUATE SUPERINTENDENT, HEAR BOND PLANNING COMMITTEE REPORT

The superintendent’s annual evaluation and a report from Brenham ISD’s bond planning committee will be among the topics of Tuesday’s Brenham School Board meeting.

Trustees will meet in executive session to discuss personnel matters including the evaluation of Superintendent Dr. Tylor Chaplin, who first came to Brenham in September 2020 after the departure of Dr. Walter Jackson.

Also on Tuesday, the bond planning committee will present trustees with a report and possible recommendation on whether a bond is necessary for district and facility upgrades.  The committee was formed in mid-2021 to gather input and guidance on the district’s future steps as they relate to a potential bond measure.

The board will also discuss and potentially approve Brenham ISD’s instructional calendar for the 2022-23 school year.  It will also consider a possible one-time early retirement or resignation incentive, hear updates on district transportation and COVID-19, and review the annual Texas Academic Performance Report.

The board will meet Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Brenham High School.  The meeting will be livestreamed on Brenham ISD’s YouTube channel.
