CUBS SOCCER TIES MAGNOLIA WEST; CUBETTES WIN TWO AT GULF COAST CLASSIC

The Brenham Cub soccer team played Magnolia West to a 0-0 tie in a district away tilt Friday night.

Goalkeeper Andrew Morales earned his fifth shutout of the season after notching 11 saves.

The Cubs (3-0-2) will travel to Waller for another district matchup on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, Cubette soccer heads into the third day of the 2022 Gulf Coast Classic in Corpus Christi with two victories.

The team first defeated Corpus Christi Ray 4-2 on Thursday.  Goals from Sonia Lopez and Lauryn Wells brought the Cubettes to 2-2 at the end of regulation, with penalty kicks from Robin Aguilar and Erin Acker sealing the win for the Cubettes.

Brenham then shutout King 7-0 on Friday.  Wells scored four goals, with three more from Aguilar, Lopez and Reagan Lange.

The Cubettes (3-5, 1-0 19-5A) wrap up the tournament today (Saturday) against Carroll before resuming district play at home versus Waller on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
