The department said in a press release that officers responded just after 1 a.m. Sunday to a shooting call at Braggs Blues Club in the 100 block of Austin Street.

When they arrived, they found a 45-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound lying in the grass behind the club.  Officers attended to the victim until EMS arrived and transported him via ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Cypress, where he was later pronounced dead.
