4 STAR CONCERT HALL OWNER JOHN ELFORD DIES

John Elford

A lifelong musician and the owner of a downtown Brenham entertainment venue has died.

John Elford, the owner of 4 Star Concert Hall, died Tuesday.

Elford oversaw the renovation of the old laundromat at the corner of Market Street and Commerce Street into a live music destination and sports bar.  A general contractor in Houston before moving to Washington County, Elford purchased the historic building in the fall of 2016 after selling his farm in Burton.

The hall officially opened in the fall of 2018 and has become a fixture in downtown Brenham, hosting numerous shows and other events.

Services are pending with Brenham Memorial Chapel.

He seemed like a good person.
I did not know him personally, but had several conversations with him about many different topics of importance to our community and country in general.
    Rest in Peace Sir.
