DOWNTOWN BURTON TO CELEBRATE TEXAS RANGER DAY SATURDAY
The Burton Heritage Society’s 11th Annual Texas Ranger Day is set for tomorrow (Saturday) in downtown Burton.
Steph Jarvis of the Burton Heritage Society says from noon to 5 p.m., guests can experience authentic 1880’s Texas Ranger camp life with a wide variety of historical activities like tours and re-enactments.
The Lil Mr. and Miss Ranger Contest will take place at 1 p.m. There will also be the Annie Maud Avis Memorial Fajitas and Beans Cook-off, providing all-you-can-eat fajitas and beans.
Entry to the event is free. Tickets for the fajitas and beans are $10 for adults and $5 for children. All proceeds benefit the restoration of the historic Mount Zion Chapel.
