BLINN CLAY SHOOTOUT RETURNING AFTER A TWO YEAR ABSENCE

The Blinn College Alumni and Friends Association and the Buccaneer Alumni Letterman Association are hosting the return of their annual Clay Shootout fundraiser next month.

The Clay Shootout is being held on Friday, April 8, at the Boswell Porter 4-H Shotgun Range at 7676 County Road 247 near Snook.

Proceeds from the event go to raise funds for scholarships and athletic equipment.

Due to COVID-19, they have not been able to hold the event since 2019, which ended up raised over $120,000.

Entry fees are $500 for four-person teams, and $125 for single shooters who will be assigned to a team.

The entry fees also include food and drinks throughout the day, as well as prizes and awards.

The shoot features 100 sporting clays. Shooters must provide their own shotguns and shells.

Registration will take place one hour before shoot time and a safety meeting will be held 30 minutes prior to shooting time.

Three flights are being held at 8:30am, 11:30am, and 2:30pm with the shootout limited to 60 teams.

Awards will be presented to the top male, female, and youth shooters. Shooters under the age of 17 must have their hunter safety certification.

Event registration and sponsorships are still available. For more information, contact Blinn Foundation Executive Director Susan Myers at 979-830-4344 or Foundation Associate Director Phil Shackleford at 979-209-7210.
