BRENHAM WOMAN CHARGED WITH BITING DEPUTY
A Brenham woman has turned herself in to authorities, nearly two weeks after they say she bit a sheriff’s deputy.
According to Washington County Sheriff Otto Hanak, deputies and Washington County EMS responded to a medical call on Friday, March 18th just before 9 p.m. in the 400 block of Lakewood Circle, off of Highway 36 North. Hanak said EMS had requested assistance in restraining an individual in order to perform a medical evaluation.
During that process, a sheriff’s deputy was bitten on the forearm. As a precaution, the deputy was treated for a minor skin abrasion and released.
After further investigation, the sheriff’s office issued a warrant for the arrest of 41-year-old Perryetta Escobar. She turned herself in on Wednesday.
Escobar is currently charged with Assault on a Public Servant and remains in custody, with bond set at $100,000.
