The Burton Bridge Ministry has named its new executive director.

Taylor Whittaker takes on the position formerly held by Susie Tommaney, who stepped down from the role to become a volunteer.

Whittaker, a resident of Chappell Hill and a graduate of Brenham High School, received a Bachelor of Science degree in health education from Texas A&M University.  She has ten years of experience working with nonprofits and service organizations, including the American Cancer Society, Child Protective Services and Goodwill Central Texas.  She also served with the Peace Corps in Namibia in southern Africa.

Whittaker said she is excited to be a part of the organization and looks forward to “helping further our mission of building a bridge between racial, cultural, educational, and economic divisions within the community.”
