MEGAN (KIDD) WHALEN NAMED HEAD VOLLEYBALL COACH

A new Cubette Head Volleyball Coach was named today (Thursday). Brenham ISD officials approved the promotion of Coach Megan (Kidd) Whalen as the new Brenham High School Head Volleyball Coach. Coach Whalen has been serving as the interim Head Volleyball coach, but will formally start her new leadership role immediately.
Coach Whalen currently serves the district as a chemistry and physics teacher at the High School and has been the varsity assistant coach for volleyball and softball since returning to Brenham. She takes the place of former Head Coach Debbie Yeager who was removed from the position by Brenham ISD in February.
Coach Whalen was born and raised in Brenham. While attending Brenham High School, she was a member of the 2004 4A State Volleyball Semi-Finalist and was the MVP of the 2005 4A State Softball Championship. In addition, she is a graduate of Texas A&M University and a volunteer assistant for the Aggie Volleyball team from 2006 to 2008.
Coach Whalen and her family reside in Chappell Hill, TX. Her daughter, Kynleigh Kidd, is in third grade at Brenham Elementary School, and her step-daughter, Rylee Whalen is in her first year of nursing school at Colorado State. Her husband Nate is a retired Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force after serving our country for twenty years.
