BLINN MUSIC DEPARTMENT TO FEATURE THREE NIGHTS OF PERFORMANCES

It’s going to be a busy upcoming week for members of the Music Department on the Blinn College Brenham Campus.

The Finke Recital Hall in the C.F. Schmidt Building feature three straight nights of performances from Wednesday-next Friday. Performances begin each night at 7pm.

On Wednesday night, two of College’s talented sopranos, Mikayla Wallis and Charis Whitley, will showcase their talents in a special recital.

They are students of Dr. Daniel Johnson and will be accompanied on the piano by Mary Ann Hatfield.

On Thursday night, the Blinn Brass Studio and Chamber Ensembles will perform for the public.

For the final night on Friday, Dr. Johnson will be performing a show entitled, “I’m Off to See the World! A Tour Around Europe in Honor of Our Spring 2022 Graduates and Transfer Students.”

The show features music from France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Russia, and Spain. Johnson will be accompanied on the piano by Dr. Patricia Burnham.

Blinn’s Music Department offers small classes, one-on-one attention, practical learning, and accessible faculty so that students are actively engaged in a superior learning environment.

Students can pursue an Associate of Arts Degree in Music that provides a solid foundation in the creative and technical aspects of music, including music theory, history, composition, and performance.
