COMMUNITY PRAYER VIGIL FOR UVALDE VICTIMS WEDNESDAY IN DOWNTOWN BRENHAM

  

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church of Brenham invites the Washington County community to a prayer vigil on Wednesday for the victims of the school shooting in Uvalde.

The service will be held at noon on the Washington County Courthouse square.

Reverend Stephen Whaley says the shooting has brought about “deep sorrow”, and invites residents to pray in solidarity for comfort, strength and healing for all those affected.

The prayers will include the Great Litany sung for centuries by the church, the reading of the names of the deceased, prayers for teachers, the care of children, and first responding agencies.  Words of strength and comfort will also be offered by letter from Bishop David Reed of the Diocese of West Texas.
